Junior Tennis

We are committed to developing players through our junior programme, which promotes family participation, to nurture talent and to promote enjoyment of the game. We run regular juniors-only Saturday morning coaching sessions and school-holiday tennis camps, as will opportunities for juniors to play in the summer and winter teams.

Saturday Junior Tennis

We aim to develop players in the long-term and encourage all our juniors to take professional instruction. Like the Lawn Tennis Association we maintain that correct technique and sound understanding of the game require competent coaching. With this in mind, on Saturday mornings, our coaching classes are run by experienced and enthusiastic LTA coaches who specialise in children’s tennis.

We treat all children as individuals and aim to help each child to be the best they can using a very positive approach. We hope to develop a love of tennis that will stay with your child for life giving them real confidence and a true sense of achievement for a healthy mind and body.

Mini Red Tennis  Saturday 09.00 to 10.00

This is the first stage of mini tennis for children aged 4 to 8. The emphasis is on developing movement, coordination and ball skills.

Mini Orange Tennis  Saturday 10.00 to 11.00

This stage introduces children aged 7 to 11 to playing on a three quarter size court with a ball that bounces at an appropriate height.

Green / Teen Tennis  11.15 to 12.15

Played on a full size court by 9 to 15 year olds, this may be played with a ball that is slightly softer and lighter than a tennis ball, promoting longer rallies and more enjoyable games.
